Document Checklist
A core set of documents applies to almost every Australian visa application. Start gathering these now — your full Visa Strategy Report will detail any extras specific to your pathway.
Core Documents
Valid Passport
A current, valid passport for you and all included family members. Ensure it covers at least the duration of your intended stay; renew if expiring within six months.
English Test Results
An approved English language test (IELTS, PTE, CELPIP, or TOEFL) demonstrating your proficiency level. Required for almost all skilled and employer-sponsored visas.
Skills Assessment
A positive skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation. This must be obtained before lodging a points-tested or employer-sponsored visa application.
Police Certificates
National police clearance certificates from Australia (AFP) and any country you have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years. Must be recent (typically issued within the last 12 months).
Evidence of Qualifications
Certified copies of academic transcripts, degree certificates, and any relevant professional registrations or licences.
Evidence of Work Experience
Detailed employment references from each employer, ideally on letterhead, outlining your duties, hours, dates of employment, and position held. Pay slips or tax documents may also be required.
