Step 1: Complete Required Education

Step 2: Gain Work Experience

Minimum: IELTS 6.0 (Competent). Recommended: IELTS 7.0+ (Proficient) for 10 extra points

Temporary Graduate
Temporary visa for international graduates of Australian institutions. PhD (4 yrs), Masters (3 yrs), Bachelor/Graduate Diploma (2 yrs). Age: under 35 open; 36–50 PhD/Masters by Research only; over 50 ineligible. Visa fee: $5,750 (from 1 Jul 2026). Processing time: 3–5 months.
Partner Visa (Temporary)
Onshore temporary partner visa for spouses/de facto partners of Australian citizens or PRs. From April 2026, the Department requires stronger upfront evidence and will issue only one Request for Information (RFI). Application fee: $9,365. Leads to permanent 801 visa after 2 years.
Employer Nomination Scheme
